Goyard Black Bellechasse PM Review: Wear & Tear and Strap Replacement

My Bellechasse PM is my favorite bag. The size is perfect for everyday use, and the black with black trim looks fabulous with everything, especially jeans.
The Bellechasse sits perfectly on the shoulder with a comfortable 8.5 inch strap drop, and the interior pocket is a generous 9 inches wide. I love the thick leather trim and the attached leather clasp, both of which are embossed with the Goyard logo. Another lovely feature of this bag is the accompanying base shaper, which matches the interior lining, and has GOYARD embroidered on the fabric handle.
After a year and a half of regular use, the exterior has held up extremely well. I haven’t noticed any of the fading that I experienced with my Artois PM. There’s some minor scuffing at the corners, and I decided to have the straps replaced, which I will explain in more detail below. UPDATED WITH NEW PHOTOS: JULY 14, 2019: I’ve started to notice the same fading on my Bellechasse that I’ve experienced on my Artois near the bottom middle of the bag on both sides. The fading is very light, but you can see, especially in the last picture, that the dots on the top are still crisp and bright, while the dots on the bottom have started to fade. It’s barely noticeable at this point, but I wonder if it will become more obvious in another year or two. I’ve contacted my Goyard SA to find out if canvas replacement is an option. I will update this post when I have an answer.
Strap Replacement:
A few months ago, I began to notice some cracking near the base of all four of the straps. I haven’t had any cracking on the straps of my Artois or my Saint Louis, so I contacted my Goyard SA and sent the bag back for inspection. It was determined that the cracking was normal wear and tear, and I decided to have the straps replaced. The strap repair was $255 plus shipping charges of $25. The repair took about a month, and the new straps look great.
